Between 9th and 13th of April 2018, the 21st version of Cesco Week Santiago will be held. This encounter brings together the main global copper industry leads and is organized by the Center for Copper & Mining Studies (CESCO). For this year it is expected to gather around 2000 industry-related people, agents from different companies into mining. Alejandra Wood, Executive Director for CESCO, said that “we are going through dizzying changing times that are certainly impacting the global mining industry and we want Cesco Week 2018 to be the platform to address these issues”. The host of the event, added: “The next decade seems auspicious for the copper industry. As the protagonist, this mineral will have that decrease in carbon or “green electricity” in the “new economy”, which helps to revert climate change. However, this request this sector to leave behind the production practices and innovate towards becoming a main player in this future, rethinking the way to obtain and process minerals, reducing their solid and liquid waste, the use of water and their overall impacts”.

On the first day of the event, an Explorations Forum will take please, whereas, in the following two days, 10 national and international speakers will be part of the 17th World Copper Conference, organized by CRU and CESCO. These include:
