The workshop kicked off with a section called Productivity and Competitiveness in Mining, in which Oswaldo Molina, professor at the Universidad Pacífico de Lima, explained the productivity and competitiveness of the mining sector in Peru and Patricio Meller, a researcher at CIEPLAN, spoke about Chilean copper, its productivity, innovation and social license.

The presentations were then commented by Codelco’s Executive President, Nelson Pizarro, Collahuasi’s President Jorge Gómez and Anglo American Chile’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Felipe Purcell.

Towards the end of the seminar, Cesco’s Chairman Leopoldo Reyes, commented on the closing panel on behalf of the mining sector making a summary of the challenges for the industry.
