THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION COMMISSION 4.0’S KICKS OFF IN CESCO

On June 21st, the first working meeting of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 table was held, led by Juan Ignacio Guzmán, member of Cesco. Nicolás Jubera, Darko Louit, Osvaldo Urzúa, Sebastián Carmona, Cristián Barrientos, Pablo Klein, Leopoldo Reyes (President of Cesco) and Joaquín Jara (director of Cesco) are also participating.

The purpose of this working group is to identify the opportunities, risks, and barriers of the implementation of automation, digitalization and artificial intelligence technologies in the copper mining industry. They also seek to establish a baseline or diagnosis of the role of these technologies in their current application and then discuss in a well-founded way the role that technology could have in the medium and long term future (from 5 to 10 years).

One of the main tasks of the group is to generate a report to be spread to the different stakeholders of the mining industry and to the public opinion in general.
