CODELCO CREATES NEW VICE PRESIDENCY OF FOUNDATIONS AND REFINERIES

Codelco reported today the creation of the Vice Presidency of Foundries and Refineries, under the company’s executive president, which will begin its functions from March 1. As vice president, the current general manager of the Ventanas Division, José Sanhueza Reyes, will assume. The new vice-presidency will be in charge of managing all the foundries and refineries of the Corporation, located in Chuquicamata, Salvador, Ventanas and El Teniente.

Sanhueza Reyes began his career in 1983 at the Empresa Nacional de Minería (Enami), where he became manager of the Hernán Videla Lira Foundry. In 2007 he joined Codelco as the Foundry Manager of the El Teniente Division, to assume as manager in the Ventanas Foundry and Refinery in 2010.

In his replacement in this division was appointed the metallurgical civil engineer Gerardo Sánchez Sepúlveda, current manager of the Foundry of El Teniente and who already served in Ventanas as Operations Manager.
