“FÉNIX” EXPLORATION FUNDS STRATEGY

 

Fénix funds were created by Corfo and the Ministry of Mining with a US$150 million budget. Resources were awarded to six fund administrators that will finance explorations for junior companies in the country. Fénix was exclusively created for small and medium size businesses with exploration projects and will last for 10 years, expandable to a maximum of 12 years. Through the Fénix funds, Corfo and the Ministry of Mining are promoting a new venture capital market for mining; how have they been organized? Which are their development plans? What are the expectations regarding the said funds?
